A water softener or filtration system that isn’t maintained stops performing. Resin gets fouled, salt bridges form, media exhausts. At that point, the equipment your facility depended on becomes the source of the problem it was installed to prevent.

We built Hoffman Soft Water as a service-first business. Every system we install comes with the option for a service agreement: regular site visits, water testing, performance reporting, and responsive support when something goes sideways. The account relationship matters more to us than the equipment sale.

  • Resin Fouling & Degradation

    Softener resin has a service life. Fouled or depleted resin means hard water passes through regardless of salt levels.

  • Salt Bridging & Mushing

    Improperly maintained brine tanks form bridges that look full but aren’t regenerating.

  • Filter Media Exhaustion

    Multimedia and carbon media needs periodic replacement. An exhausted filter does nothing.

  • Chemistry Drift

    Water chemistry changes seasonally. Softener and filtration settings calibrated for one set of conditions may underperform as source water chemistry shifts.

  • Pretreatment Chemistry Testing

    Regular on-site testing to verify system performance and catch problems before they escalate.

  • Resin Inspection & Replacement

    Proactive resin health checks, iron fouling assessment, cleaning cycles, and full resin replacement when capacity degrades. We track resin age and performance data to predict replacement timing before failures occur.

  • Filter Media Replacement

    Scheduled multimedia and carbon replacement based on usage and water quality data.

  • Performance Reporting

    Written service reports after every visit so you have a record of system condition and chemistry.

  • Emergency Response

    When something fails unexpectedly, we respond, including nights and weekends. Doug personally handles emergency calls across Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and all of Ohio.

  • Parts & Labor · Pretreatment Only

    Service agreements cover parts and labor for all pretreatment equipment we manage: softeners, filters, and specialty treatment systems. Our scope is pretreatment. We do not provide chemical treatment programs (boiler chemistry, cooling tower chemistry, etc.). For full-plant chemical programs, our parent company Hoffman Water handles that side.
